Creative Arts Promotion hosts the central office for the National Rural Touring Forum (NRTF), a member-led organisation that promotes professional arts with rural communities.  There are currently around 37 touring schemes working with over 2,000 local promoters in England.

Between 2002 and 2008 Creative Arts Promotion is co-ordinating a funding programme with the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation called Rural Connections, which expands the range and quality of touring work to rural communities.

Creative Arts Promotion worked in partnership with Kala Sangam, a South Asian performing arts company and commissioned, on behalf of the NRTF, Rural Voices in 2002. This performance featuring storytelling, music and dance based on Asian and English stories of rural life toured to 21 communities between Cumbria and Devon.

In 2004 Creative Arts Promotion were commissioned by the Arts Council England, Yorkshire to conduct a review of rural touring in the Yorkshire region.

In 2007, Creative Arts Promotion took on the strategic direction of the North Yorkshire Youth Music Action Zone working with Harrogate International Festival, Swaledale Festival, Whitby Musicport, Cube Media and Pied Piper to provide quality music making activities for young people living in the isolated communities of rural North Yorkshire.
